Canon added a new product to its EOS Kiss series dubbed the EOS Kiss X2, a popular digital single-lens reflex camera that features sophisticated functions in line with those of top end cameras and provides even higher resolution footage.
The newly developed 12.2 megapixel CMOS sensor and the high quality DIGIC III image processor provide both unsurpassed image resolution and color gradation. In addition, the new camera features superior image depiction in a wide photographic sensitivity range between ISO100 and ISO 1600. The EOS Kiss X2 also outperforms previous models with a maximum frame rate of 3.5 frames per second, which enables consecutive image shooting of up to 53 photos. The camera also comes with a high speed, high precision 9-point AF system that was enhanced to support the F2.8 center lens group.
The EOS Kiss X2 is a lightweight camera that weighs only 475 grams and features a shutter speed conversion function that corrects image blurring due to camera shaking in roughly 4 stages. The camera is also equipped with a wide angle TFT 3.0 inch LCD monitor that can display footage in high resolution at around 0.23 mega pixels, and with its enhanced high-intensity illumination for the backlight, the camera’s maximum brightness was improved 30 percent.
With the use of the live view function, users can film an object while watching it on the LCD monitor in real-time. The camera also features a manual focus mode that allows the user to zoom in on the image displayed on the LCD monitor to 5X or 10x in order to fine tune the focus.

The EOS system positions the image stabilization function in the lens. This makes it possible to equip each lens with a system optimized for the specific lens characteristics, enabling high-precision correction of camera shake even for high-magnification telephoto units. When shooting with an SLR camera, it is necessary to confirm the effects of image stabilization in the viewfinder. A stable viewfinder image lets the photographer concentrate on the creative aspects of picture taking, such as framing, focus, and special effects, ensuring comfortable shooting that maximizes every photo opportunity.
