This is the intersection of Castro and Central in Mountain View.

Shot at 1080p for 12:28 minutes – which is the maximum the camera can save in a single 4GB file on the SD card. The camera can’t do multiple files.

The 4GB file was uploaded in 113 minutes with my new Internet connection. Pretty sweet (but doesn’t compare to fiber…)

I just got my camera and took it to a neighborhood park and took a 6 minute video.

No settings changed, straight out of the box.

Canon EF-S 18-55 IS kit lens.

Video is 6:12, 2.05GB (~44Mbps) H264 .MOV, 29.97fps

Canon and QuickTime claim it’s 1920 x 1080, but Windows 7 Explorer claims it’s 1088 high. YouTube might believe that, too, as its transcodes have black bars on the sides.

Windows 7 Explorer also claims 29 fps, it probably rounds down.

Windows Media Player and QuickTime play the original smooth on my desktop computer (at ~3% CPU for Media Player and ~11% CPU for QuickTime). Picasa drops plenty of frames (at ~20%) CPU.

I recorded these test clips today with my XSi. The quality is fantastic. I simply resized the video to 720p in AE, cutting off the top of the video but oh well.

ALL clips are straight from the camera, no tweaking.
