Syncing My Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi with a Flash Unit?

I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi, and I just got an AB800 Flash Unit.
The cable that came with the AB, does not fit any input on my camera.
I was wondering if there is an adaptor I could buy for this?

Yes, you need a WEIN SAFE SYNC. It mounts in your hot shoe and has a PC connection.

As a note, you would be MUCH happier with a radio trigger for your light rather than dealing with the cord. I have seen one for sale for as little as $30 from Backdrop Outlet.

Are you able to take a picture on the Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1i and then change the color to black and white or sepia on the camera afterward?

Yes. Black and white is called monotone in their menu system. However, many find it better to take a photo in raw, and then convert it to sepia or black and white with a single button click later using the Canon software. This way you have a color version of the photo (the original RAW file) and a black and white. If you shoot JPEG in monotone, you will only have a black and white without the ability to change it back to color later.

Keep in mind that pretty much any digital camera out there can do this, which makes it a poor reason to spend hundreds on a DSLR.
