Sunday Mar 29, 2009

I need your help. I do not have much knowledge on external flashes so below, I put some links of Flashes but I do not know which is the best for me as in better flash, distance in flash and what not. If you can please look at each and tell me which I should get. THANKS!

I would not buy any of them … only Canon speedlights have all the features that can be used with your cameras flash interface.

If your budget is low, either forget the flash for now and save your pennies or buy the least expensive Canon speedlight … the 220 EX

You spent good money for a fine camera … no reason to go cheap now.

The 430EX and 430EX II are great external flash for your camera.

The 220EX just increases the flash power, but its head cannot be tilted up for bouncing. Worse than the Nikon SB-400.

as a beginner… i figured i would just go with canon stuff to start out with since im not an expert at slr's yet. i went with the canon 430ex ii. i got it during xmas when it was on sale for like 220 bucks online, but now it's about 270 everywhere i see. i like the easy on/off of the shoe, and it works very well with my xsi. i also like how it has a nice carry pouch. I purchased a sto-fen diffuser with it and it works very well. i know you can get it for 260 from abes of maine w/their loyalty 10 discount and free shipping, no tax (dependent on state). i buy stuff from there quite often, you just have to not give into their upsell gimmicks when they call you to confirm the order
