Can I use my old CANON 35mm camera lenses with the new Canon Digital SLR series cameras?

Sunday Aug 9, 2009

Obviously, I am still with the 35mm camera (the Wonderful Canon Elan II-e EOS film camera). I had two very versatile lenses with it 1) 28-80mm, 2) 35-200mm. Both original Canon lenses that came with the orig camera about 11 yrs back. Is it possible I can re-use them in a new Canon 40D body? I believe I can. However, need to find, what features/functionalities am I going to miss by doing so? Also if anyone has a weburl on the topic, I will appreciate it.
thanks.

Yes you can use your present lenses with the Canon 40D.

The Canon web site should have a chart showing compatibility.
