Hi, I’m going to purchase a CanonEOS 50D camera with EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom. Which memory card and battery should I purchase with this camera? What measurement should I buy for the UV Protector Filter and the lens cap? Is a sensor cleaning kit required? Thanks!
Don’t get this combo. Thats not a great lens for the 50D, wide angle is equivalent to 45mm because of the crop. Look for a 17-85 kit or settle for an 18-55 kit if need be.
There is a battery with the camera.
It takes compact flash. You won’t get a compact flash with the camera. Buy at least 2GB, pref 4GB.
You will get a lens cap with it.
Thread size is 72mm don’t get a UV though, get a skylight 1A instead, it lets UV light into the lens, which kills of mould. Which is a good thing.
A cleaning kit will be useful down the line. If you keep the lens on the camera, and only change lenses indoors you should actually be okay for quite a long time.

Yes. Most Canon lenses fit on most Canon cameras.
Of course, if you were using Nikon you wouldn’t even have to ask, if the lens and camera were both made after 1959 you would know they would fit, due to Nikon’s excellent F-mount.
I would like to know if it takes good action shots. I heard that it takes bad indoor shots (too dark) and I was wondering about that too. Please don’t complain aboutthe flash to me because I never use flash, I just don’t like it. Thanks for your help.
it doesn’t take bad indoor shots. The benefit of an SLR camera is you can change your lens into a more specialized one. For indoor shots I would suggest a fast lenses (f2.8 or faster) because it will allow you to take picture with faster shutter speed.
for what its worth, I’ve been using a 50mm f1.8 lens with the camera, and I can take indoor portraits without flash.
For action shots… however… like it or not – you’re going to have to use flash (external flash are recommended), unless if the place you’re in have plenty of light (like spotlights or something like that).
I know that the CanonEOS rebel T1i is expensive and it probably always will be even with markdowns,
And I absolutely ADORE this camera and i’ve been dying for it ,
but where can i find one with the body AND lens (since some are only with the body) for a little bit cheaper or a lot cheaper price?

My fiance mother says she read in a book they have it in the body and i have read on the canon webpage they dont its in the lens and i asked the camera people at BEST BUY and they say no. She owns the Canon EOS Rebel XSi and i want to get the Canon T1i. She also said thats what the "i" stood for.
The Canon EOS image stabilisation system is courtesy of a gyro sensor and motor in the lens not the body.
There is some confusion as the sensor in camera bodies does vibrate, but this is purely to shake off dust and dirt from the sensor.
Sony, Olympus and Pentax have anti-shake in the body, Canon and Nikon, so far, have favoured having their anti-shake in the lens.
Not every lens needs anti-shake and whilst it is a desirable function for some situations a lot of shake can be reduced by correct camera technique.
Anti shake will not work very well below certain shutter speeds, isn’t required above some others, can’t correct for motion of the subject and some system don’t work so well if the camera is in portrait mode or if the camera is panning or tilting.
In short, anti-shake is useful but not the be all and end all.

I am entering a new world of photography and I am not sure the best flash to buy, I have a Canon 40D and would like to get something that will be really good for a large room full of people and close ups. Any advice would be great. Thanks!
there are a few canon flashes available in the market.. the 580EXII (older 580EX) would be a good choice.. the head can be use to bounce the light and it also have swivel head so u can be more creative taking picture using it..
Out of all of them, the EOS 5D is the best. This is a professional camera, and unless this is what you need/want, don’t get it. Pass it up for the 40d. I must say, though, the 5D is an excellent. It has a full frame, high burst speed, great body, and excellent images. Though, none of the cheaper lenses will work on it, I think they are called EF lenses. These lenses were built for smaller sensors, and if used on a full frame camera, there will be a circular image.
